Faster Permitting System on the Horizon

Over the last few months Patterson Construction has been hard at work.  We have completed several large projects, and we are currently in the finishing stages of a plethora of current projects.  With the summer heat rising, PCS is looking forward to capitalizing on the booming market.

According to the July 27, 2014 edition of the Houston Business Journal processes are going to become significantly easier in the way of gaining permits for commercial and residential construction projects in the City of Houston.  The city will be implementing a more streamline, electronic program that will allow building permits to be requested through a computer system.  The system completely eliminates the need to submit physical plans, thus ensuring the builder or property owner will receive permits more timely.  This, in turn, will allow tenants to move forward with construction faster.

The migration to an electronic system will come at a time when the Houston economy needs it the most.  As mentioned by Mark McAvoy, executive director of the Houston Permitting Center, from 2010 until today, permit requests for commercial projects are up 100 percent.  We at Patterson Construction look forward to utilizing this system to better serve our clientele, and increase productivity as a result of faster permitting.Rita'slogoFix My Phone Katy, TX
